Department of History
Shri Vyankatesh Arts, commerce and Science College established in 1967. The
department of history in the college since its establishment. The beginning of
college only two classes of PUC and B. A. I were running. In the natural growth
B. A. II and B. A. III classes were started in the year 1972-73 and 1973-74
respectively. As per the direction of university and govt. of Maharashtra this
is the one faculty department since established of college.
History teacher played an important role in the view of society and
nations, because history subject makes the students prosperous regarding knowledge.
Since ancient time India got in hesitance of various caste, religion and
traditions-customs. Therefore today the history is made sensitive subject in
country and to create big challenge for security of society and nation.
Therefore big responsibility on the history teachers shoulder to tell true
history of the students and keep the secular and amicable atmosphere in
country. History department is known our responsibility to country and to try the inculcate
secular feeling among the students by giving the true information of the
students and cultivate good feeling about society and nation.
The history is the very important for the student’s career in view of
competitive exam and Primary, high school and higher secondary education. So
many students select the history subject for the better career and history
department also give the whole cooperation for their success. Therefore a lot
of students who take the higher education in history. They doing work as a
teacher in the various institutions. Similarly a lot of students give his
valuable contribution to do the work on various post and various fields by selection
threw competitive exams for the construction of society and nation.College
students Ravi Khillare won the Gold Medal in History subject in university exam
2012 and Department of history gave the pioneering contribution to college in
university level.
Objectives
of the Department:

To create interest among the students about history.

To preserve the treasure of history.

Enhance the researcher approach among the students.

To find out and to make research on local history.
5)
To develop the impartial approach among the
students.
6)
To make the students mind creative and innovative.
